The short version: MarkdownRender collects nothing. It has no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, and no network calls of any kind. Everything happens locally on your Mac, fully offline.

1. Information we collect

None. MarkdownRender does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. The app does not include analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, advertising identifiers, or any other tracking technology.

2. Your files stay on your Mac

MarkdownRender reads the Markdown files and folders you choose to open. These are accessed locally through macOS security-scoped bookmarks and are never uploaded, copied to a server, or transmitted anywhere. The app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox and only touches the locations you explicitly grant access to.

3. Network use

All rendering, syntax highlighting, and diagram generation is performed on-device using assets vendored inside the app, so MarkdownRender works with no network connection at all. It contacts no server of ours, and there is no server of ours to contact.

There is one exception, and it is worth stating plainly. If a document you open references a remote image, such as ![alt](https://example.com/image.png), the preview loads that image from wherever the document points, as any viewer would. That request goes to a third-party server we have no relationship with, and it carries whatever your network request normally carries. It happens only for documents that contain such a link. Nothing else in the app makes an outbound request.

4. Local settings

Your preferences, such as theme choice, pinned folders, and open tabs, are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS mechanisms so your session can be restored on relaunch. This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer.

5. Third-party services

MarkdownRender uses no third-party services. If you download the app from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect certain information under its own privacy policy; that data is handled by Apple, not by us, and we receive only aggregate, anonymized sales information.

6. Children's privacy

Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
